The Encounters 

 

As a relationship driven church, first with God and then with people, the Lighthouse Church hosts one of the most vital parts of this vision. This weekend retreat is known as "The Encounter". Every four months a series of Encounters ministers to men, women, youth, and children. This is a whole weekend of being shut in with the Lord and coming face to face with the power of the cross and repentance, the love of Father God and His forgiveness and blessing, the freedom of breaking bondage and old sin habits, and the fullness of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit with power to walk as His witnesses in this world.

These weekends are, for many, a life-changing encounter with the Living God. Many have been revived, saved, healed, baptized, and set free. Families are being changed as people begin to take seriously what it means to follow Jesus Christ.

The Encounter Retreat Objective:

Encounter retreats are exciting, refreshing, and liberating weekends! This concentrated time of Bible study, prayer, and worship is an introduction to the wonderful life that God intended for us to live as His children. During the Encounter weekend, three major areas are addressed:

v The past (bondage and emotional hurt)

v The present (practical help in dealing with current life issues)

v The future (God's plan and dream for your life)

Whether you are attending the Encounter as a new believer or as a mature Christian seeking more intimacy with God, the Encounter retreat is a great investment in your relationship with God. This special time has often been described as a radical change in 48 hours, and that is truly what it is!
